FAQ

What development support services does Sydow-Druckguss offer?

From technical die-cast component consulting to filling and solidification simulation, we offer support in product and process design, also when the ideal product for the customer/assembly is a hybrid. Joining and inspection processes are designed accordingly. We support all common CAD formats.

Does Sydow-Druckguss also offer prototypes?

Yes, we offer the entire process all the way to the series product, from one source. If we do not support the prototype production process in-house, we use our extensive partner network, e.g. for sand casting components or 3D printing.

What are the closing forces of the machines in the foundry?

We have 15 casting cells with closing forces ranging from 300 to 1100 t.

Are compression systems also used in the casting process?

Yes, producing vacuum states using vacuum die casting methods has meanwhile become routine. We also use squeezers to prevent shrinkage cavities and porosity formation with post-pressure.

Does Sydow-Druckguss has its own processing facilities?

Yes, about 85% of the parts that leave our company are processed ready for assembly, surface finished and coated. We have over 20 milling centres and various blasting processes as well as assembly and inspection equipment.

What inspection methods does Sydow-Druckguss use?

Thermal imaging, spectral analysis, X-ray technology, tightness tests, coordination measurement technology, micrograph analysis, fluorescence testing, contour and conductivity measurement as well as surface roughness measurement are used in our processes.

According to what standards is Sydow-Druckguss certified and what certificates does the company have?

We are certified according to IATF 16949:2016 , ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 50001:2018. You will find our certificates under „Downloads“.

What alloys do you process?

We process aluminium and magnesium die-casting alloys.

You will find the exact details in the Overview Table (PDF).
